About Me

This is my own little CNN. We as Earthlings are bombarded with images and news that are just not relevant or important to us as individuals. However, we can’t necessarily blame the mainstream media for being so narrow in their focus and domestic in their range. This is a news blog of a wide-eyed teenage/young adult living in the new dawn of a century where anything is possible and globalization means that the planet and its people are coming together as one. Sounds like a scary fairy tale. But it is true. The future is here and now. Live It.

The Beatitudes

I've been wanting to write this on my blog for a long time now.
So here it is: The Beatitudes from Matthew 5:3-12 (NIV)

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

This passage from the Bible is so powerful yet meaningful. I tell you the truth, I believe that the whole Bible is based solely on this teaching from our Lord, Jesus. This is the basic theme that runs through all the stories in the Bible. It is about imperfect, sinning ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Our god likes to use the weak and meek because he is just that way. He likes to use the weak to disgrace the proud and check their egos. For only the humble will receive the Lord. And his story will be gloried in the name of Jesus. AMEN!!!
