This is going to be my first post for the month of May. I actually stuck with my blog for the last five months. Kudos to self for that!! Haha. Anyways happy late cinco de mayo to all which was yesterday. I'm not Mexican so I really did not do anything productive or festive. What happened today?? Barcelona drew with Chelsea 1-1 @ Stamford Bridge. It is going to be a good final with the top team in the EPL going against the top team in Europe. Man U vs. Barca, can't wait. After all, I'd imagine that's what the Champions League is for right?? Pitting champions against champions. The late goal by Barcelona's Andres Iniesta was PRICELESS!! I thought HIddink shouldn't have gotten complacent and substituted Drogba. He could have changed the game. He clearly wasn't happy to go. On the other hand, his leg was hurt, so you can't really blame Hiddink for doing that. Okayyy, my mind is getting thirsty and heavy, I'll give a myself a break. COLD!!!

Happy Easter & New Year's!!!

Hello bloggers!!! Wanna take time out to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Hope you guys had a wonderful Easter/Spring weekend. Sis and brother-in-law came to house on Easter Sunday. Went to Guitar Center with bro-in-law to get me a BOSS DR-880 beat maker. Ended up buying a mammoth 35 pound Numark NS7 DJ controller. So stoked about my new toy. I consider it a gift from God. Really. It is so coOOLL!! It has two turntables and a mixer in the middle. Though it doesn't play the actual 12" vinyl records, it has a 7" aluminum plate that looks and feels like an actual 12" vinyl (who plays 'em anyways, besides all my music is digital babbbyyy) record. So my scrathin' feel is not compromised. Such an amazing machine. But am so bummed that my SUPER desktop computer is apparently too good to handle my beloved mixer/turntables. Since my mixer is a new model (released late March y'all) the software supports up to only 32-bit win. Arrghhhh...!!! I'm on a lookout for a Mac laptop right now. Always wanted to buy one, now this gives me reason to go out there and get me one of 'em Macz. I have a PC desktop, a Mac laptop will be a perfect complement. Haha. Macs are gre8 and its getting more popular with my demographic nowadays. I think it's because of it's gurageband feature. But there is so much going for the Mac. I can't help myself. Schools kill creativity. PERIOD!!! That is a fact and if you find yourself disputing it, then you are nothing but an android robot. Schools are the first place where we are socialized and institutionalized. Where being wrong is penalized and punished. Above is a great speech by Sir Ken Robinson. One point he made stuck with me. That is that we have to be prepared to be wrong and somehow schools educate out our creativity by instilling fear of being wrong or creative essentially. WATCH!

April Fools Day

As all of you know, today is April Fools day. Surprise!!! You bet. Its already the fourth month of the year. Phew!! 20 days later and yep its 04/20. But weed and getting high is so 1960s-70s to me. The first decade of the 21st century is already coming to a close. Can somebody urge the President to legalize that ish!!! I'm telling you the truth, most young kids smoke weed simply because it is illegal!!! Legalize that ish and let the kids know they ain't cool doing weed. The added danger of possessing and subsequently smoking weed is what draws rebellious teens to the weed gang. And that is bullshit and stupid at the smae time to the max level. Weed does not like me, I'm telling you. Burns my throat and makes me lose my breaths. There's other ways of getting high kids. On 04/20 its me and the vodka bottle. Haha. Damn I though I was talking about April Fools day. Aite, so far I've heard of two April Fools jokes today. One is that Car and Driver magzine ran a story on their site that President Obama urged GM and Chrysler to withdraw from the NASCAR series if not they will not receive additional federal bailout money. WOW!!! President is getting more powerful by the day it seems. Now he is gonna tell me to vote for him in 2012 or ELSE!!??!! Keke. Also, read a story on globalGrind that Damon Dash and Jay-Z reunited in NYC. The headline was "Roc is back!" Cool. What's their deal?? I don't even know their beef in the fist place. You know what?? It dosen't even matter because it's April Fools Day!!! YeaaYY! It is like every other day!!!

Its a cool site which allows you to follow the updates of your friends, family, co-workers and you favorite celebrities. It's like blogging but with a modern twist. Some call it "micro-blogging". It really is. You cannot exceed more than 140 characters in your frequent updates. All you got to do is answer the simple question "What are you doing?" The pitch for the site is that your friends and family would appreciate the frequent updates of what you were actually doing in that moment in time. Its a pretty neat concept. And I've notice other social networking sites like Facebook and hi5 have integrated this feature into their user profile page. Its cool y'all. Check it out!!! Moderator?!!

I've been given the opportunity to be the moderator for tomorrow's church service. I feel honored and nervous at the same time. You know the jitters. Fear that I would say things I would regret latter. Fear that I would not do as much a good job as I seem to be making others think about me. Just that fear. They say fear is good. That adrenaline can actually help you if you harness it the right way. I pray that the Lord will help me get my message across clearly so that His name will be glorified. It is all because and for His amazing love. Amen.
Just woke up, stomach is groaning, gonna get myself some bread and butter.

The Beatitudes

I've been wanting to write this on my blog for a long time now.
So here it is: The Beatitudes from Matthew 5:3-12 (NIV)

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

This passage from the Bible is so powerful yet meaningful. I tell you the truth, I believe that the whole Bible is based solely on this teaching from our Lord, Jesus. This is the basic theme that runs through all the stories in the Bible. It is about imperfect, sinning ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Our god likes to use the weak and meek because he is just that way. He likes to use the weak to disgrace the proud and check their egos. For only the humble will receive the Lord. And his story will be gloried in the name of Jesus. AMEN!!!

I Follow Jesus.

I, Yosok Pun is a Christian. Ahh... it is so liberating to finally say that. I've been wanting to be a Christian for a very, very, very long time now. Only because of my deep desire to profess my faith of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior to the public. I've been a closet Christain for years now. But now, it's finally here!!! On Sunday (1st of Feb 09), after the church service, our church congregation headed to Parkville Baptish Church for the baptisal of me and my dad. The church was very nice. It was clean, well-kept and most importantly, had pews! Nothing against the church we use on York Rd. I do have faith though that God will provide the Nepal Baptist Church with a bigger, better church in the near future. Also, our membership will be blessed by leaps and bounds. The sky is the limit when it comes to God. Back to the topic, I was so filled with joy, peace and love of Jesus that I actually cried during my testimony. It was all unexpected. In fact, I was both shocked and ashamed that I could and would let my guard down in front of the whole congregation. Momments leading to my batisal, I felt like the holy spirit was with me the whole time. The whole day even and it has not left me since. It is this undescriable peace and joy that I have now that I only used to possess when I was a child. I feel like I can do, say whatever I want w/o feeling a single ounce of fear or anxiety. The Lord Jesus Christ has healed me of the demons that have possed my life the past five years. I'm so grateful for the things the Lord has done in my life that I couldn't ask for more.
O, Heavenly Father, all I pray today is that you would not leave me alone. Be with me through thick and thin!! Becasue I can instantly feel your presence and absence. But if you do need to leave me for a while, help me to seek and praise you no matter what. For it is written in the Bible that you do not leave your children alone. You promise to be with them every second of the day. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Captain Yosok Pun Update.

It's been a few days since I last posted anything here. Been busy a lot these days. Got a lot in my mind (means got many things I have to do). And it doesn't help that my car is "injured" from the accident last friday. Now I have no job which means no money for me. Too bad<>. Spring semester is starting soon!!! Next Week!!! Have to fix my car soon. Not to mention the books I have yet to buy. This winter holiday went by quick. Thanks to this online computer class I'm taking. The projects are really stressful and time-consuming especially when it is due the day its assigned. Guess I had it coming registering for a four-week winter session. I was even thinking about doing the two-week session. Who am I kidding?? By the way, I've been going to the Nepal Baptist Chruch on York Rd for the past month or so. It's a small chruch but it's great. Anything with God is great (I read that once). I get have fellowship with many nepali brothers and sisters in Christ. I'm so very excited about my baptising this coming Sunday. My dad is getting baptised with me too. Pastor Cho is coming to my house along with my other church members after our baptisal. My house is going to be truly blessed this Sunday. I've believed in HIM for a long while and now feel blessed that my family has finally come to accept Jesus as well. It is all through his power and glory. Amen. Now that my head has cleared a little, (blog today!!! was what I promised myself today, haha) I can move on with the other things in my head. Praise the Lord!

As Barack Obama takes the oath of office today, thousands of people will be gathered at Washington D.C to witness history in the making. He would be the first black president to be sown in as leader of the free world. And its not that he is black that this is histroic. Well partially, ya. But it is the way he ran his campaign and how he embraced the ideals, values and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to present day. I mean what a coincidence that 40 yrs after the death of MLK and following MLK's 80th birthday, America would have a black president. This is the stuff of movies and the work of god. Just like the millions of youth and minority groups who helped getting him elected, Captain Yosok Pun promises to do everything in his power to help the Obama Adminstration move forward with its mission to make America perfect.

(News)-(Politics) Obama is President of USA!

Who would have thought that America would one day have a black president? A hopeful majority. But who would have thought that America would have a black president by 2009? A very few. Apparently not President George W. Bush's generation who lived through the Jim Crow era. Obama was in fact, one of only three black senators in Congress. Add to the fact that, he was a junior senator from Illinois with only two years of experience in Congress. The chances of a black guy running for president was slim to none. But Obama had something that none of the other candidates had. What he lacked in experience he made it up in his youth. Americans, tired of the same old politics of Washington made their voice heard on Nov. 4 when they appointed Barack Obama Jr. to lead America into the new century. Many Americans did not see any change in McCain. He was Bush with a little more baggage, white hair and even more aggressive style. Obama was the complete opposite. I've heard people say anything other Bush would be good. I say there is no other way than Barack Obama. He represents to the world change America desperately needs and wants. This just in from the city of Italy. AC Milan favorite and Brazilian star, Kaka' has turned down a world record transfer fee of 100M pounds from English Premiere League Club Manchester City. Kaka' has said that he likes playing for AC Milan and likes the competitiveness of the Serie A league. This goes to show what a faithful and passionate soccer player Kaka' is. It is not about the money but the club and level of competition Kaka' feels he should play in to improve his soccer game. Big props to my man, Kaka'. He has just given me one more reason to like him.
